The no. 20 Holy Cross men’s rowing team competed against no. 22 Drexel and no. 18 Georgetown at the Occoquan Reservoir on April 13.
This event brought together three nationally ranked teams, giving Holy Cross an opportunity to test its performance against strong competition in several varsity races.
In the varsity eight race, Holy Cross finished third with a time of 5:38.11, trailing Georgetown by less than two seconds. The second varsity eight secured second place with a time of 5:48.31, finishing three seconds ahead of Georgetown. The third varsity eight also placed second in their matchup with a time of 5:50.13, just under two seconds behind Drexel and six seconds ahead of Georgetown. The fourth varsity eight finished second as well, clocking in at 6:09.97 and defeating both the Drexel fifth varsity boat and the Georgetown fourth varsity boat.
The team will return home on Saturday, April 18 to host Hobart, Marist, and Temple at Lake Quinsigamond.
Lineups for each boat were provided for all four races held during the competition.
