Holy Cross men’s rowing competes against Penn at Cayuga Lake

The Holy Cross men’s rowing team competed against the University of Pennsylvania on May 1 at Cayuga Lake. The race featured Holy Cross, ranked number 21, going head-to-head with Penn, which holds the number eight ranking.

This matchup provided an opportunity for both teams to measure their performance against highly ranked competition. It also allowed Holy Cross rowers to test themselves ahead of upcoming races.

The varsity eight boat from Holy Cross finished with a time of 5:52.0, placing second and trailing Penn by seven seconds. The second varsity eight posted a time of 6:12.2. The third varsity eight recorded a time of 6:06.1, while the fourth varsity eight completed their race in 6:22.2.

Holy Cross is scheduled to return to Cayuga Lake on Saturday, May 2, where they will face Cornell and Oregon State in additional races.

The event included several lineups across four boats representing Holy Cross men’s rowing team members in various positions such as coxswain and rowers.
