The Holy Cross women’s rowing team hosted Boston College, University of Connecticut, University of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Sacred Heart at Lake Quinsigamond on April 19.

The event marked an important test for the Holy Cross crew as they faced several regional teams in a home regatta. The competition provided an opportunity for the athletes to measure their progress during the season.

Head coach Andrea Landry said, “Coming off a tougher week of training, handling stiffer competition with resolve and composure was a vital step for our crew. We will be carrying the ability to drive deep and stay internal into the next few weeks as enter the increased intensity in our next three race weekends.”

During the races, Holy Cross’s varsity eight+ finished with a time of 6:44.7 while the second varsity eight+ recorded a time of 7:07.4. In the four’s category, the first varsity posted a time of 7:55.4 and the second varsity recorded a time of 8:03.6.

Holy Cross is scheduled to continue its homestand on Saturday, April 25 when it faces Delaware and Rhode Island.
