The Holy Cross women’s tennis team concluded its season on April 17 with a 4-0 loss to top-seeded Boston University in the Patriot League Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at Bucknell Varsity Tennis Courts.

This match marked the end of the Crusaders’ run for the 2026 season, during which they recorded a 4-16 record. The four victories represent their highest win total since the 2022-23 season. Boston University, which has now won five consecutive matches and holds a balanced record of 9-9, will advance to face Lehigh in the semifinals.

In doubles play, Boston University secured wins at both No. 2 and No. 3 positions to earn the doubles point. The Holy Cross pairing of freshmen Phoebe Devine and Margaret Winiecki were tied at three games apiece at No.1 when their match was left unfinished due to BU clinching the round early.

During singles competition, Boston University achieved victories at No.6, No.1, and No.5 singles positions to seal their advancement in the tournament. Notably, Holy Cross senior Maddie Hamm was leading her opponent at No.4 with scores of 6-3 and 4-1 before play concluded following BU’s overall win.

The conclusion of this match brings an end to Holy Cross’s season while Boston University moves forward in pursuit of further success within conference play.
