Holy Cross track and field athletes Liam Lyons and Joseph Mahon have been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, according to an announcement from the conference on Wednesday, March 4.
Liam Lyons, a senior double majoring in international studies and philosophy, has achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.59 as of the end of his fall semester. He earned second team All-Patriot League honors after securing the silver medal in the mile at the 2026 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 4:05.96. Lyons also contributed to setting a new school record and winning bronze in the distance medley relay (DMR) with a time of 9:51.12. He currently holds individual school records in the 1,000m, mile, and 3,000m events.
Joseph Mahon, a junior majoring in computer science, recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.44 after his fall semester. At the 2026 Patriot League Championships, he was recognized as the top point scorer of the meet and received both first and second team honors. Mahon began his weekend by earning silver in the 5,000m with a time of 14:05.24. On Sunday, March 1, he became the first Holy Cross athlete to win gold in the 3,000m at these championships with a time of 8:06.74. Mahon also holds the school record for the 5,000m event (14:04.52).
