Senior Racheli Levy-Smith has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for her performances during games played from February 9 to 15. This is the third time in her career that she has received this recognition.
Levy-Smith contributed significantly in two games last week, accumulating 22 draw controls, eight caused turnovers, and five ground balls. In a game against Albany on Tuesday, she recorded six draw controls, four caused turnovers, and two ground balls. On Saturday, during an 18-8 victory over Stonehill, she achieved a season-high with 16 draw controls along with four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
So far this season, Levy-Smith has totaled 33 draw controls, 10 caused turnovers, and seven ground balls. Over her career at Holy Cross, she holds the school record with 317 draw controls and has also collected 77 ground balls and 57 caused turnovers.
Holy Cross currently holds a record of one win and two losses overall. The team will next play at Brown on Thursday, February 19 at 5:30 p.m.
