Cost of college went up for all students at Quinsigamond Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.9 percent for 2018-19 at Quinsigamond Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Massachusetts residents paid $5,586 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $48 more than the $5,538 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 88.5 percent more than residents this year, or $10,530. Their price tag grew 0.5 percent from $10,482 in 2017-18.

About 97 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Massachusetts residents. About 1 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 82 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 562 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.9 million and 420 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (7,263), 4,538 students used grants or scholarships totaling $17.5 million, and 3,394 students took out $21.2 million in federal student loans.
