Cost of college went up for all students at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2018-19 at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Massachusetts students paid $50,530 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,902 more than the $48,628 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,094 students received grants or scholarships totaling $22.9 million and 593 students took out student loans totaling more than $7.8 million.

Including all undergraduates (6,874), 4,107 students used grants or scholarships totaling $85 million, and 2,327 students took out $16.6 million in federal student loans.
