Junior Brady Ryan (Lynn, Mass.) won his singles match, but it wasn't enough, as the Assumption University men's tennis team fell to Holy Cross by a 6-1 score on Friday afternoon.
Ryan downed Mikey Prokopis in three sets by marks of 6-3, 4-6 and 10-6 on a tiebreaker to highlight the Greyhound effort. Senior Michael Butkus (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore Alan Nguyen (Reading, Mass.) were also a bright spot and competitive at No. 2 doubles, only falling to William Kelleher and Prokopis by a 7-5 decision.
Assumption (2-9) will wrap up the regular season with a dual match at Stonehill tomorrow at noon.
