Nichols College senior DJ Caron has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Baseball Player of the Week.
Caron recorded at least two hits in four of the five games played by the Bison last week and finished with a .476 overall average - including a sparkling .583 in conference play - to go with three round trippers and nine RBI. He belted a pair of solo home runs against Clark on Wednesday before going 5-for-9 with a home run and five RBI on Saturday in a sweep of Gordon. On Sunday, he delivered a tie-breaking two-run triple - his first of the season - in a road win at Bates.
On the season, the Branford, Conn. native is batting .346 with five home runs and a team-leading 25 RBI and nine stolen bases. He has 12 multi-hit games thus far in 2022.
The Bison (14-15-1) host Anna Maria Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Nichols Baseball Field.
