Nichols College men's lacrosse student-athletes Connor Santoni, Cian Keohane, Joseph Busa, and Hunter Ferreira have been named to the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III All-Academic Team.
Santoni – who participated in the NEILA All-Star Game earlier this month – collected a career-high 32 points in 2022 on 16 goals and 16 assists. A communications major, Keohane was named to both the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team and CCC Academic All-Conference squad after potted a school-record 52 goals this past spring.
Busa, meanwhile, is a criminal justice major and CCC Academic All-Conference pick who racked up 26 ground balls while appearing in all 19 games for the Bison this season. Ferreira garnered CCC Third Team honors in 2022 after collecting four hat tricks and closing the season second on NC in goals (30) and assists (24). The sport management major was also named to the CCC Academic All-Conference Team.
Overall, 55 different colleges and universities were represented across all three divisions, including 129 Division III student-athletes from 37 institutions. Members of the teams are nominated by head coaches in Divisions I, II and II, and are comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career.
Nominees must have senior or graduate student standing, a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale and be an impact player for their team.
