The Nichols women's tennis team began its fall campaign at the Colby-Sawyer Invitational on Sunday, September 4 at the Kelsey Courts, facing off against three programs spanning Division II and III in American-International, Bentley, and Colby-Sawyer.
To open the action, the two Nichols tandems of Tifany Lucart & Charis Vogler and Camila Magrin & Bethany Prendergast both advanced to the final matches of third and fourth courts doubles play, respectively, before each being upended by Colby-Sawyer duos.
In singles play, six Bison advanced to a finals matches, including Vogler (second court), Sophia Leonardi (fourth court), Jordan Knowles (fifth court), Lucart (sixth court), Magrin (seventh court), Prendergast (eighth court). Nichols lone victory on the afternoon came from Magrin's 4-2, 4-3 (9), 10-6 triumph against Bentley's Arsenault.
The next match will serve as the home opener for the Bison, as they will face off against Southern New Hampshire on the Robinson Tennis Courts, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
