HOW IT HAPPENED
Daemen would jump out to an early lead, as they scored at the 12:42 mark and the 15:45 mark, thanks to through balls that beat the Assumption defense. Alyssa Diaz scored the opening goal, as she scored in the top left corner, while Tatyjana Scalisi scored with a low right corner shot. The Wildcats controlled the action for the first half, as they outshot Assumption 11-7 in the opening 45 minutes.
The Greyhounds upped the pressure in the second half as they bombarded the Wildcat defense with 15 shots and five corner kicks. Haleigh Ward got Assumption on the board in the 70th minute, as she would get a head on the Maya Demello cross and sneak it into the bottom right corner of the cage. Four minutes later, Haley Brown picked off a Daemen pass and sent a through ball to Ashley Wenzel, who beat the defense and scored on a shot to the low right corner to tie the contest.
