The Nichols men's basketball team dropped a 74-55 non-conference decision to Trinity on Saturday afternoon at Oosting Gymnasium. With the setback, the Bison fall to 1-1 on the young season.
The Bantams jumped out to an 18-2 lead in the early going of the first half, but Nichols would battle back to trail by just ten at halftime, 33-23.
The Bison offense could not catch up during the second half, as Trinity used four different scorers with double digit point totals to help pull away for the team's first win of the year.
Matthew Alectus led the way for Nichols with a 15 point, 12 rebound double-double. Tavon Jones tacked on 13 points and seven rebounds of his own.
Nichols will look to rebound on Tuesday, November 15 in a midweek matchup on the road at Anna Maria at the Fuller Activities Center at 6 p.m.
