Howe Named Nichols College Assistant Director of Athletic Communications
Nichols College Vice President and Director of Athletics Jack Hayes announced the hiring of Mickey Howe as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.
Howe will serve as the primary contact for the women's basketball, cheer, baseball, men's golf, softball, and men's and women's outdoor track and field programs while assisting with the production, promotion, and publicity of all 24 Bison varsity teams.
Howe is a 2021 graduate of Elms College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and Marketing. During his time as an undergraduate student, he interned for the Blazers' sports information department where he input statistics for home games, published various releases, and produced live video broadcasts. On top of his studies and internship hours, Howe was a five-year member of the Elms baseball program, where he made 30 appearances on the mound as a relief pitcher. The South Windsor, Conn. native is now pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at his alma mater while on staff at Nichols.
"I am extremely honored to be joining the Nichols Division of Athletics. I would like to thank Nick Perenick, Kristan Mallet, and Jack Hayes for offering me such a great opportunity," said Howe. "I am excited about the direction that the Division is heading in, and I look forward to contributing towards the vision immediately."
Howe joins an Athletic Communications staff that features Nick Perenick, who is in his first year as the Director of Athletic Communications in 2022-23, and David Foster, a 2021 graduate of Nichols who is in his first year as an Athletic Communications and Game Operations Graduate Assistant.
