Men's Basketball Rolls to 100-62 victory over University of New England
The Nichols College men's basketball team used a dominant first half to top the University of New England (UNE) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Saturday afternoon. Nichols picks up their 2nd straight CCC win to improve to 8-5 (4-2 CCC), while the Nor'easters fall to 2-11 (0-6 CCC)
The Bison came out hot in the first half, shooting 61% from the field. They also controlled the glass out-rebounding UNE 26-11. Nichols took a 54-26 lead into the break. Jakigh Dottin led the way in the first for Nichols with 16 points on 8-9 shooting.
Nichols big first half was more than enough, as they were able to cruise the rest of the way, outscoring UNE 46-37 in the second half, to secure a 100-62 victory.
Dottin finished the game as the top scorer for the Bison with 20 points. Ty Rucker added 19 points, while also forcing 4 steals on the defensive end.
Nichols is back in action on Tuesday when they take on CCC foe Endicott at the Nichols Athletic Center.
