McAlister Elevated to Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach
Assumption University men's basketball head coach Scott Faucher has announced today the elevation of Garvin McAlister to associate head coach Friday afternoon.
"I would like to thank Scott Faucher and Eric Gobiel for this tremendous opportunity," stated McAlister. "The past four years at Assumption have been both exciting and extremely fulfilling. I look forward to continuing my personal growth as a coach here while simultaneously striving towards our ultimate goals and visions for the program within this new role."
McAlister has an extensive coaching background, starting at Western Connecticut State University in 2014 as an assistant women's basketball coach, where he recruited the eventual 2016 LEC Rookie of the Year. From WCSU, McAlister moved to Nichols College men's basketball, where he was also an assistant coach and helped lead the Bison to a 49-10 overall record and the program's first Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. Before landing at Assumption, McAlister also had stops at Connecticut College (2017-18) and his alma mater, Post University (2018-19).
"We are excited about Garvin's well-earned promotion," stated Faucher. "Throughout the last four years, he has brought infectious positive energy and passion into our program. He is an integral part of our community, and we are happy to have him as our associate head coach."
