Alectus Takes Home CCC Player of the Week Honors
Nichols forward Matthew Alectus was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week following his 10th and 11th double-doubles in wins over Salve Regina and Gordon.
In the CCC win over Salve on Wednesday, January 18 Alectus led the Bison in scoring with 23 points, while also leading the team in rebounds with 14. On Saturday, January 21 the grad student from Hollywood, Fla. poured in 20 points, while also coming down with 18 rebounds in an 89-69 victory over Gordon, Nichols' sixth win in a row. For the week, Alectus averaged 21.5 points and 16 rebounds. He was also a force on the defensive end, averaging 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.
The Bison take the court again on Tuesday, January 24 when they take on Curry with tip-off set for 7:30 from the Nichols Athletic Center.
