 HOW IT HAPPENED
In the early portions of the game, neither team could establish any momentum, as the teams remained within one score for most of the half. It wasn't until 6:25 remaining in the half Isiah Gaiter made a layup to make it a five-point lead (29-24). In the final two minutes, Kyle Hicks converted a three-point play to expand their lead to six (37-31), but the lead would not last long, as Franklin Pierce rattled off six straight to tie the game at 37-37. Daouda Dembele hit a free throw in the final seconds of the half to give Assumption a one-point lead heading into the intermission.

The second half remained tight, as the game would stay within two scores. At the 9:57 mark of the half, Sean Trumper made a layup to put the hosts up eight (58-50). The Greyhounds continued to chip away at the deficit and would eventually get within one (65-64) following a layup by Dembele with 2:17 remaining in regulation.
