The Assumption University men's basketball team picked up their sixth win in seven games, as the Greyhounds held on for a 76-72 win at Le Moyne in Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds got out of the gate early, with Cal Connelly making his first three three-pointers to go up 11-3 with 17:10 on the board. Still running off that fuel from the comeback victory versus Saint Michael's, Assumption jumped out fast to a 25-5 lead with Daouda Dembele hitting a pair of free throws. The Dolphins answered this spurt as they brought it back to within eight as the visiting Hounds couldn't score for over three minutes. It truly became a game of runs, as from 6:44 to 2:50, Assumption went on a 9-4 run to reestablish a 15-point lead. The first half ended with the Greyhounds holding an eight-point lead, 41-33.
Le Moyne would continue to push in the second half, getting it to single digits multiple times. However, Assumption had multiple double-digit scorers who kept the game out of reach in the early stages of the second half. At 7:44, the Dolphins finally got a lead back, which would be a one-possession game the rest of the way. Kani Glover and Njavan Stewart helped carry the Greyhounds over the hurdle at the end, as Glover's layup at 1:40 made it a two-possession game, and Stewart's pair of free throws with 17 seconds remaining put it out of reach for the Dolphins. Assumption took the contest 76-72, making that six-wins in their last seven.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Isiah Gaiter picked up his third-straight double-double, as the guard recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
- Njavan Stewart had a game-high 22 points while adding nine rebounds and a pair of blocks
- Cal Connelly (14) and Cooper Creek (10) also registered double-digit points.
- Assumption outrebounded LMC 41-36, while the Greyhounds outscored the hosts 32-28 in the paint.
