Assumption Women's Basketball earns spot in first NCAA Division II Regional Ranking

 The first NCAA Regional women's basketball rankings have been released, and Assumption University is one of six Northeast-10 teams under consideration in the East Region.  Assumption recently defeated Saint Anselm College, 74-69 victory on Wednesday, February 15th.

REGIONAL RANKINGS

In addition to Assumption (21-4 overall, 14-4 NE10), the other NE10 schools include Bentley University (15-9, 12-6 NE10), the University of New Haven (16-8, 11-7 NE10), Southern Connecticut State University (16-8, 11-7 NE10), and Southern New Hampshire University (18-5, 14-4 NE10). New this year for NCAA Division II sports with regional rankings; schools will be listed as under consideration in alphabetical order for the season's first ranking. 

Assumption will host Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, February 18th, at 1:30 pm before wrapping up the regular season on Tuesday, February 22nd, at Southern Connecticut (5:30 pm).

The NE10, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), and the East Coast Conference (ECC) make up the 35-team NCAA East Region this season. 

The Division II Women's Basketball Championship provides for a maximum field of 64 teams. There will be 23 automatic bids (awarded to the champion of each Division II all-sports conference) and 41 at-large bids.
