Former Assumption University football player, Deonte "Harris" Harty has signed a two-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, per Adam Schefter, announced Wednesday morning.

The Baltimore, Maryland native will be entering his fifth season in the NFL this season, as he spent the last four seasons in New Orleans playing for the Saints. In 40 games, Harty recorded 64 receptions for 793 yards and four touchdowns. In the return game, he has 152 total returns for 2,659 yards and one touchdown.

In 2019, Harty started the year as an undrafted rookie whom the New Orleans Saints signed after an impressive preseason performance. After a stellar rookie season, Harris was named a starter for the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl as the NFC's return specialist. He is the first undrafted Saint to make the Pro Bowl roster as a rookie and finished the season leading the NFL in punt returns (36), combined returns (50), and punt return yards (338).

Harty was named to the D2Football.com All-Decade Team (2010-2019), as announced on Tuesday afternoon. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have played during any season from 2010-2019 but must have completed his eligibility prior to the 2020 season. He must also have been named a D2Football.com All-American in that time period.

Harty was a two-time American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American and finished his career with the Greyhounds as the most prolific returner in NCAA history. He was an organizational communication major while studying at Assumption.
