The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team will continue their Patriot League schedule on Saturday, March 18, when it travels to #20 Boston University. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Nickerson Field, and will stream live on ESPN+.


Turnpike Trophy: 

  • The Turnpike Trophy series between the in-state Patriot League rivals awards points for all head-to-head victories in both the regular season and postseason, with the Turnpike Trophy going to the school which accumulates the most points at the end of the academic year.
  • Holy Cross currently leads the series, 7-6.
HOLY CROSS (0-7, 0-2 Patriot League) AT A GLANCE:

  • The Crusaders fell to Lehigh on Saturday, March 11, 17-11.
  • Thomas McIntire scored six goals, a career-high. The hat trick marked his fifth of the season through seven games.
  • Dean DiNanno picked up his first hat trick of the season on the afternoon, while T.J. Lynch picked up a goal and an assist. 
  • Calahan McPherson recorded his first collegiate goal, while Henry Sheehan and Tyler Marmo recorded assists.
  • Four players recorded a caused turnover, while Hayes Reding led the way in ground balls with three.
  • Connor DePiero led the way for the faceoff unit, going 8-14 at the X.
  • Junior Dawson Friers recorded 16 saves in the contest, bringing him to a season total of 108 through 7 games.
  • McIntire is tied for fourth in the country in goals with 22, and tied for 19th in goals per game with 3.14. McIntire is also on an 12-game scoring streak that started against Navy on March 26, 2022. Over the 12 games, he has tallied 36 goals and five assists for a totals of 41 points.
  • Friers ranks first in the country with 108 total saves, and is third in the country in saves per game with 15.43. His .524 save percentage places him 26th in the national rankings.
SCOUTING #20 BOSTON UNIVERSITY (4-1, 1-0 Patriot League):

  • In their two Patriot League games, the Terriers defeated Colgate, 14-8, before taking down Bucknell on the road, 14-12.
  • The Terriers received three Player of the Week nominations after their matchup with Bucknell. Faceoff man Conor Calderone, LSM Roy Meyer, and attackman Louis Perfetto were all recognized by the league.
  • Boston U. is led on offense by Vince D'Alto, who carries 17 goals and 11 assists for 28 points into the matchup. LSM Roy Meyer has a team leading 34 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers this season.
  • Netminder Matt Garber has played every minute for the Terriers this season, carrying a .450 save percentage and 10.96 goals-allowed average into the weekend.
LAST TIME THEY MET:

  • All time, Holy Cross is 2-6 against Boston University.
  • The last time they met, March 19, 2022, the Crusaders fell to the Terriers, 16-10.
  • The Crusaders' last win in the series came on April 22, 2016, by a score of 11-7.
