Men’s Tennis Comes Up Short at Mount St. Mary’s (MD), 5-2 | https://nicholsathletics.com/
Nichols men's tennis wrapped up its spring break trip with a loss to Division I opponent Mount St. Mary's (MD) by a final score of 5-2. In the setback, the Bison fell to 2-7 on the season.
The Bison came away with the doubles point with cluch victories coming on the second and third court. The duo of Caio Dieckmann and Yannick De Vet earned a 6-2 decision over their Mountaineer counterparts on court No. 2 before Trevor Schwarzmann and Santiago Perez battled their way to a 6-4 victory on the third court.
Despite many close matches throughout singles play, Dieckmann was the only Bison to earn a point as the junior put together a 6-2, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) victory over Andrew Allen in No. 5 singles.
Nichols will continue its non-conference schedule with a matchup against Colby Sawyer on Thursday, March 23 at the Boss Tennis Center on the campus of Dartmouth College.
