Starting June 26, The Cambridge Public Library invites people of all ages to pick up an Adventure Guide and adventure together this summer for the annual Summer Reading program. This program promotes the joy of reading for pleasure for all ages while highlighting Library resources, services, spaces, and collections.

Readers of all ages and abilities can participate by reading and completing activities throughout the summer. Participants who share their reading and activity progress with the Library will be entered into drawings for gift cards at a local independent bookstore. First-time submissions receive a free Cambridge Public Library journal while supplies last.

“I always look forward to the Library’s Summer Reading program because of the community’s enthusiasm to participate in this program, especially the young ones,” said Dr. Maria McCauley, Director of Libraries. “I also look forward to the Summer Reading program because of the creative ways Library staff use to make the program fun and engaging for all ages, such as this year’s Summer Reading Adventure Guide. I invite you to pick up a guide, and a book from the branch close to you and join us in the fun of reading”

Summer Reading Adventure Guides will be available at all library locations and online to download starting June 26. The program runs through August 25. For more information, visit your neighborhood Library or camb.ma/summerreading.

Funding for the Summer Reading program has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, East Cambridge Savings Bank, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
