5.5% of citizens unemployed in Worcester County in 2021

Worcester County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 25,435 people out of the 856,858 living in Worcester County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Worcester County has increased compared to the 4.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Worcester County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.4%.

Of the 438,674 people who had a job during that time, 734 were employed in the Armed Forces and 437,940 belonged to the civilian labor force.
