There were three gas stations in cities across Worcester County selling premium gas at the lowest price of $3.99 per gallon in the week ending May 4, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of premium gas in cities within Worcester County was $4.45 per gallon.

Of the 53 gas stations in cities within Worcester County, 14 offer premium gas.

The average price of premium gas in Massachusetts was $4.42, compared to $4.40 the week before.

Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year's end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
