Massachusetts Academy For Math And Science School District: Asian students were most represented ethnicity in 2022-23 school year

Asian was the most represented ethnicity among Massachusetts Academy For Math And Science School District students in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

In total, there were 63 Asian students enrolled, accounting for 63% of the district's student body.

The number of Asian students attending schools in the district increased 10.5% over the previous school year.

Meanwhile, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander students were the least represented ethnic group within the schools in Massachusetts Academy For Math And Science School District.

Massachusetts Academy For Math And Science School District roughly covers schools within Worcester County, and has a main office in Worcester.

The total number of students attending the district’s schools grew to 100 over the 2022-23 school year.

Students in Massachusetts are predominantly white, according to state data from 2023-24, representing 53% of the state's student body.

Across the state, Hispanic and Latino students saw the highest high school dropout rates.

Under representation is also found among educators in Massachusetts. The Rennie Center reported that only 7.8% of teachers identified as people of color in 2022.
