The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Connecticut 2-0 in non-conference action at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. The Crusaders fall to 0-2 on the year, while the Huskies improve to 1-1 overall.
Connecticut opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Moussa Wade scored on a direct free kick from just outside the penalty box on the left side. The Huskies then made the score 2-0 in the 55th minute on a goal by Frantz Pierrot from six yards out after a scramble in front of the net.
Senior goalkeeper Jimmy Joyce made three saves for Holy Cross, while Jayden Hibbert recorded one save for Connecticut
The Huskies finished the game with a 12-2 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 3, when it travels to Sacred Heart for a 6:00 p.m. game.
