Women's Soccer Falters at No. 13 SNHU

The Assumption University women's soccer team fell to No. 13 Southern New Hampshire University

THE BASICS

Score: Southern New Hampshire University 3, Assumption University 1

Records: Greyhounds (2-2-2, 1-2-0 NE10) | Penmen (5-0-0, 2-0-0 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Penmen would be the first team to score, as Jordan Butter used a low shot to put SNHU up (1-0) at the 37:45 marker. Southern New Hampshire saw their lead grow to 2-0 in the 51st minute, as Georgia Greene scored with a shot in the top left corner of the cage. Assumption responded just over a minute later, as Julia Sferlazza recorded her first goal of the year.

Southern New Hampshire tacked on another goal in the 81st minute, as Nida Orloff scored off a rebound off the crossbar.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Julia Walsh recorded three saves for Assumption.
  • SNHU outshot the Greyhounds 16-7 while also maintaining a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks
  • Southern New Hampshire now leads the all-time series 18-11-5.
