Huff and MacDonald Named 2022 New England Football Writers Association All-New England
Thirty-two conference all-stars representing 22 schools from the six New England Division II and III football playing conferences have been selected to the 2022 New England Football Writers Association All-New England team. The team, selected by a committee of representatives from the six conferences, honors the best Division II and III players by position in New England from the 2022 season.
Isaiah Huff and Tom MacDonald were the two All-New England selections for Assumption University.
The two-time Northeast-10 First Team Selection, Huff was the top cornerback for the Greyhounds this season, as he had two interceptions and 15 pass breakups. His 15 breakups rank second in the nation. Huff headlines a defense that ranked in the top-15 nationally in total defense (6th - 237.6), rush defense (8th- 74.2, team passing efficiency defense (3rd-91.25), scoring defense (10th- 14.6), 3rd down defense (6th - 0.253), and first down defense (12th - 152).
The NE10 First Team selection, Tom MacDonald, anchored a Greyhounds' offensive line that averaged 172.7 rushing yards and 147.4 passing yards per game. Assumption averaged 22.1 points per game and scored 81.1 percent of all red zone attempts. In over 650 snaps this season, MacDonald only allowed two sacks from the left tackle position.
