Student-to-teacher ratio in Learning First Charter Public School District fell in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Learning First Charter Public School District fell by 1.2% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 671 students being taught by 39.7 teachers in Learning First Charter Public School District, which covers schools within Worcester County and has a main office in Worcester. That's an average of 16.9 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Learning First Charter Public School District had 665 students and 39 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
