Did Quaboag Regional School District students fail or pass their 2021-22 school year English tests?

Of the 539 students who took part in the MCAS, 63% did not meet the testing standard in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

These students did not meet the required standards of the English Language Arts portion of the MCAS, compared to the 38% who did.

The number of Quaboag Regional School District students who failed their English Language Arts assessments rose by 19.1% from the previous school year.

Quaboag Regional School District roughly covers schools within Worcester County and has a main office in Warren.

In the 2021-22 school year, 400,101 students took the English Language Arts test in Massachusetts with 63% students failing, 10.1% more than the year before.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's 2022 Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS), the average scale score for grade 10 English Language Arts was 503, which met the expectation level, while the average scale score for grade 10 Science was 499, which only partially met the expectation level.

Massachusetts ranks 5th in the ranking of the best and worst public schools from Scholaroo. School systems were evaluated on three factors — student achievement, student safety, and the quality of school education.
